Welcome to Southampton Triathlon Club.
The Club runs a variety of training sessions (mostly coached) for Club members with the emphasis currently biased to swimming.
The club aims to provide training sessions that span all three Triathlon sports - swimming, cycling and Running.
Swimming
- Please note: The swimming sessions are only available to club members who pay the monthly standing order.
- Swim sessions are held at:
The Quays on Saturday (9.00am to 10.00am)
The Quays on Monday (7.00pm to 8.00pm and 8.00pm to 9.00pm)
Oaklands on Wednesday (8.30pm to 9.30pm)
Applemore on Friday (8.00pm-9:00pm) - Supervised (Lifeguard) open water swimming at Calshot during late spring and summer. Times depend on the tide so contact Mike Ballard in advance for timings.
Cycling
- Coached cycle sessions are on Saturday (10.45am) and run forapproximately 2 hours leaving from Eling Tide Mill Car park. These sessions usually combine eitherHills or speed(time trial) sets after a short ride to the New Forest. Always worth checking first with club coach Mike Ballard to confirm session is running.
- The club is also affiliated with Sotonia Cycle Club (www.sotonia.co.uk). They usually ride from North Baddesly cross-roads and support riders of all standards.
- STClonger rides are usually on sunday mornings at around 9.30am, but vary from week to week so it is advisable to speak to either Darryl Marcus-Hanks or Linda Connor in advance. These rides range from 30-50 miles and are cycled at "Sunday Morning" pace. Suitable for beginners and those wishing to gain advice and experience without being left behind. Mileage usually increases as season progresses.
Running
- The club is affiliated with Hardley Runners running club (www.hardleyrunners.co.uk). STC members can race in their name and join their training sessions.
- In general most club membersbelong torunning clubs to compete in winter road events and cross country races. If you wish to find one locallythen ask the club for direction.
With effect from 1/3/09 the following fees are payable:
The monthly activity fee (collected by Standing Order on the 10th of each month).This includes swimming, parking at the Quays and membership fees.
- Full membership £22
- Concessionary fee for students/unwaged/over 60 years of age - £15
- Junior Members aged up to 18 years and in full time education (£11)
Prospective members normally come along to one of the swimming sessions to decide whether they wish to join. All you need to do is pay the facility entry fee and join in. If you make yourself known to the coachof the session you attend they should be able to answer any questions you may have. Anyone wishing to join the club will be required to complete an online application form and forward payment as indication on the form below.
