INFO: Club Champs @ Southampton

From Jan Goble:

24th August sees this years Club Championships at Southampton (Applemore).

Just received my race details for Soton & the email below from Concept & the majority of entrants (20) have been allocated to a single wave (1st wave). You will see from the email at bottom of page, that I did request that we remain within the normal times, but this appears to have been too late even though it was 2 days after being asked due to it going to my work email.

I am sorry if this is not what we asked for, but it is split into times, so all should feel comfortable within their lanes & will give a good atmosphere for racing. It would appear that a few have been put into later waves, probably due to numbers being high for the 1 wave.

Good luck everyone !

I forgot to put the club name down so got put in a later wave. The club wave is 0700 and I am off at 0830 with a group estimating an 8 minute swim. If any club members in the 0700 wave would like an extra lie-in, I would be very willing to swap! If so please email me at jmcc[at]europe.com (replace the at with a @!)

In fairness to Concept Sport, they're doing what I, on behalf of the committee, asked them to do originally when we chose Applemore as the Club Champs, i.e. have a separate club wave with overspill and latecomers in the regular slots. I think some confusion arose from the liaison loop getting bigger and some people's concerns about the early start, but please don't give them more mixed messages or a hard time directly -- go through me! Marius.
