I popped in to see Dave last night who seemed very perky and was hoping to come home today. He has a very unusual and rare condition and has had really good service from the NHS.  The first treatment did not work, but now the steroids seemed to have helped and he is walking with just one stick, more for reassurance than any real need it seemed to me!  One thing that does seem to have stood him in great stead is his enormous levels of fitness.... so a tip to everyone: keep training!

We hope to see him in the pool for a gentle dip at some stage soon!
