Race Report: Bramley 20
By Nick Austin
Pretty good conditions greeted athletes at Bramley yesterday, where the weather stayed largely dry, surprising after having driven through a snowstorm on the way to the event. This is a really good marathon training run and as in previous years it attracted a large field. 10 mile runners completed one lap of the circuit, 20 mile runners completed the same lap twice. This made it a really good course for seeing how well you can maintain your pace, or even aim for a negative split.
The course itself was gently undulating for the most part, and on quiet roads, although the second lap did seem less flat than the first....
Good to see Andy Moore at the start who is training for a 50 mile offroad race in Paris in April, as well as a second Double Ironman later in the year (incidentally he told me he'd entered this the day before he did the last one...). Sarah did really well as well in what was only her fourth 10 mile run.
I was pleased with my time, knocking about 6 minutes off last year and climbing about 60 places.
