River Itchen Biathlon

Anyone interested in putting a team together for this? It's on the 25th September and is a 24 mile run from the source of the Itchen up in Cheriton (run as four legs) and then a 2.5km swim down river from Woodmill to the Priory Road slip.

It's £50 a team (ie. £10 a head) and all the money goes to the Mountbatten Hospice at Moorgreen.

Further details via link.

So is it five people, four people doing the run sections and 1 person doing the swim?

I'd be up for a running leg, but a 2.5 mile open water swim is beyond me (or is this divided into legs too?)

This is a pretty chilled out charity event and really good fun I'd recommend it...
In answer to Sam's question yes, in theory, it is 5 people - 4 of whom do an approx 5k running leg and 1 does a 2.5 (downstream) river swim. However, if someone wants to do more than 1 leg they are very welcome.
It is lso followed by a free barbecue which has got to be motivational!
Ps if you are putting a team together and want to win get as many older people on your team as poss - the age handicapping is very generous!!

In which case, I'd be happy to take a running leg. Don't worry, I run a lot faster than I cycle... well not literally, I mean in relative terms :)

Just to note, I (at present) can't do this as will be living it up at work. However, if I can blag a shift swop I'm happy to make up a team if there are any odd numbers floating around.
