Club dinner
Thursday, November 6, 2008 at 07:39PM We currently have 57 people (41 members plus their guests) due to attend on Sunday 23 November and could have 60 max, so there is room for 3 more - just contact me. Thanks to everyone who has paid a deposit.
There are two people I have not seen for some time, and with whom I cannot get in email contact - Gaz Bloxsidge and Sally Gilbert. In Gaz's case emails are bounced back from IBM. If anyone has phone numbers for them, please let me know

wanted front bike wheel
Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at 09:59PM My son Elliot had the front wheel of a 1980's Peugeot racer that he had done up stolen from his bike at Eastleigh station. I was just wondering if anyone had a spare wheel that they might like to sell. Its a 700mm x 21/22mm rim. Not a racing wheel or mountain bike more like a hybrid size wheel. Thanks Nicole Johnson
bike compensation
Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 09:20PM Thought this might be of interest to anyone suffering damage to their bikes from the poor state of our roads. Mind you, you do need patience as you wil read later.
Back in March I hit a series of potholes in Fair Oak near where I live causing an instant puncture and damage to my front wheel rim. Later my bike steering began to get really wobbly and I could hardly corner. The headset was removed and repaired. I contacted Hampshire County Council about the potholes and asked them about compensation. I was sent forms to fill in which I did and sent off. Then nothing for months and months. Finally about 4weeks ago a letter arrived to say that they would pay me compensation if I provided proof of the work carried out. I submitted the receipts and today received a cheque to cover the work and parts replaced. So if you don't mind waiting 7months!!! then it might be worth filling in a claim form. GOOD LUCK!! Reliability rides with Bournemouth Wheelers
Sunday, October 26, 2008 at 02:33PM I received this flyer when I did the Grid Iron a few weeks ago. Thought people might be interested in the rides as they go into next year and offer those " Going Long" some good training (hint! hint! Julian)
Nicole
I include a copy of the flyer for the reliability rides being organised for this winter. I look forward to seeing you and your colleagues there. Our web site is down at the moment please contact me if you need any further information.
